While there are many ways to go about this, two basic elements are usually required. One is diet, and the other is exercise.</p>
<p>The foods that you put into your body will have a profound effect on your health and well being. When you simply go shopping at your local supermarket, you&#8217;ll find many foods that can support you in this effort. Stay away from processed food and stick to fruits, vegetables and grains as the basics for a healthy and natural weight loss diet.<br />

<p>Although diet is an important part of weight loss, I&#8217;d like to focus on exercise. Here I&#8217;d like to give you a couple of excellent tips that you can use today that will propel you towards a thinner future.</p>
<p>If you want to slim down, it&#8217;s better to use lighter weights, and a higher number of repetitions for each particular exercise. This will give you that long, lean look. Instead of doing five reps with twenty pounds, try twenty reps with five pounds.</p>
<p>Another thing to consider is which muscles you are targeting. Many of the machines you see at the gym are set up to isolate muscles, meaning that you are only working one particular muscle with that exercise. Try and use the machines which target a whole range of muscles. Usually this means doing exercise which require more overall motion with your whole body, like a rowing machine, for example.</p>
<p>A great way to easily accomplish this is through the same exercises that you used to do in P. E. class all those years ago. Push ups, sit ups, pull ups. These all target the large muscle groups, and you&#8217;ll never have to worry about getting big and bulky. And they other great thing is that you can do them anywhere, anytime, without any equipment.</p>
<p>When you start the right exercise program, you&#8217;ll be amazed how quickly you start to melt off the fat and transform your body in exactly the way that&#8217;s right for you.</p>

<p>Losing weight is very tough and in some cases patients who have morbid obesity the only option is to get the gastric bypass surgery to lose weight.  By having a surgical procedure they control the intake of total amount of food that they can have. This is known as bariatric surgery also and post the operation it is very important to have vitamins to make sure that you nutrients that are very important to supply the body with all the food elements.</p>
<p>In this procedure the stomach size is reduced to an extent that you just cannot eat big meals. This helps to limit your intake as well as the frequency of the intake is limited.</p>
<p>The gastric surgery is alternatively known as bariatric surgery. Lap Band surgery is second type of bariatric surgery and that is the same concept of stomach being reduced in size.</p>

<p>The most essential vitamins like Vitamin A, Vitamin B12 and Vitamin C are critical to the functioning of the body. Since the body does not have these in good quantities chances are that it will start affecting your bones and other critical organs.</p>
<p>Doctors generally recommend that you should start the intake of the essential vitamins five days before the operation. In the post operative phase it is recommended that multivitamin tablets be taken daily. In the first few days high protein meals as well as specific Vitamin B12 supplements should be taken to make sure that your body is not scarce of the more critical vitamins. That helps body maintain its regular functions till the time you start the normal intake of solid food.</p>

<p>If you’ve ever struggled with holiday eating before,<br />
you’ll love my practical advice for surviving Thanksgiving<br />
without packing on the pounds.</p>
<p>Everyone loves Thanksgiving, don’t they? Yet there have been<br />
plenty of holidays where, after you eat, the couch calls your<br />
name and you wish you had worn your elastic-waist pants<br />
with extra elastic!</p>
<p><span id="more-2194"></span></p>
<p>This year is going to be different for you because I’m here<br />
to help! Here are four (4) simple tips the naturally thin do to<br />
keep themselves looking fabulous time and time again<br />
through the holidays:</p>
<p>1. Thanksgiving is Family Day Not Just Food Day.<br />
 <br />
The naturally thin love all the yummy and delicious<br />
Thanksgiving food just like you do. Here’s their secret –<br />
they don’t just love the food, it’s mostly for them about<br />
the people, being with family, watching sports or playing<br />
some outdoor sports activity. It’s not all about the food<br />
to them and it shouldn’t be for you either. If you find<br />
yourself just focusing in on the food, spread<br />
your focus out and see other enjoyable aspects of the<br />
day so your joy isn&#8217;t just about eating.</p>
<p>2. The Thin Never Automatically Eat.</p>
<p>Automatic eating often leads to overeating but rarely<br />
occurs (2%) with the naturally thin. They don’t numb<br />
out while diving into their third helping of mashed potatoes.</p>
<p>Remember this – Your cells may be accustomed<br />
to automatic eating out of habit – this “cellular memory”<br />
is entirely unconscious and both your mind and your body<br />
will continue to repeat these old holiday patterns because<br />
your cellular memory is literally in the groove of eating this way.</p>
<p>As you change your cells and their vibration, you<br />
change this memory and your holiday eating outcome.</p>
<p>Do this by getting conscious – if you need to hit yourself<br />
over the head with a pot to wake up and stay conscious<br />
do it! <img src='http://www.idealweightlossguide.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>In all seriousness – you can use your breath throughout<br />
the meal to center you, relax you and keep you focused.<br />
The more you do it, the more your body will look just like theirs.</p>
<p>3.Thanksgiving Is Just Like Any Other Meal.</p>
<p>Step into your holiday meal thinking it’s just like any other meal.<br />
The thin do this because they know that they can always<br />
make turkey, stuffing, cranberries, or other delicious pies any<br />
old time they want. If you know you can have it again and again,<br />
it loses its excitement. Enjoy yourself and the food but know you can always have more meals just like these throughout the year.</p>
<p>4. The Thin Don&#8217;t Eat Everything.</p>
<p>The naturally thin don’t eat for ANY other reason besides hunger,<br />
so if there&#8217;s an amazing amount of food prior to the meal laid out,<br />
the naturally thin will save room by just having a few of their favorite<br />
options when they&#8217;re hungry. Don&#8217;t eat a full helping of pre-meal food<br />
and then eat a whole Thanksgiving meal&#8230;it&#8217;s just too much food<br />
for your fabulously slimming body!</p>

<p>If you have been trying to get thin and do something about your weight, then you will probably have started eating properly and exercising. There are some people though who experience a decrease in weight loss after a while and they wonder, why did I stop losing weight?</p>
<p>This question can be easily answered. If you think about what your body does when it loses weight you will see that you just need to make a few adjustments to your program. When you start out you will diet and eat a lot less. This is ideal because your body will have a lot of excess fat to burn, so you shouldn&#8217;t eat a lot of calories to lose weight.</p>
<p>Now, once you start losing weight, you also have to adjust the amount of food you eat otherwise your body starts to think you are starving. This will make your metabolism slow down and your weight loss will stop. So, if you want to keep losing weight, you actually have to start eating a bit more so that you have energy for exercising and this will help your weight loss.</p>

<p>You will then have to make sure that you do not lose fat too quickly, because if you do, you will only put that fat back on in a few months, or you will stop seeing results and you will have to reset.</p>
<p>Being on a diet will help you, but you should not be on a diet in the traditional sense of the word. You should consume six smaller meals each day, and also take note of your fat and calorie intake &#8211; other than that, EAT!</p>
<p>To see your progress you should not go according to a scale, but rather see how your clothes fit. You&#8217;ll oftentimes find yourself being congratulated by friends for losing weight even though they&#8217;ve not weighed you! Keep an old pair of jeans aside that are your goal size and then keep trying them on each week to see your progress.</p>

<p>Today&#8217;s post has more <a href="http://www.realage.com/blogs/doctor-oz-roizen/how-to-lose-weight-the-right-way" target="_blank">weight loss tips and advice </a> including  when you may need help from your doctor if your weight loss is not happening and your health is at stake.</p>
<p><span id="more-1981"></span>Today&#8217;s post reminded me of the <a href="http://www.realage.com/videos/?bclid=5030523001&amp;bctid=14990692001" target="_blank">multiple workout videos </a>they have posted.  This is a beginner&#8217;s workout for your entire body, with warm up and cool down stretches too, all in 20 minutes. Just do what you can, and each time you practice, you&#8217;ll be able to do more.  If this is easy for you,  then you can move on to one of the advanced workouts they have posted.</p>

<p>Persons who need to lose weight are constantly searching for diets that work. The trick isn&#8217;t really finding a diet plan that works, but rather locating a diet to which a person can stick. The 46.8 billion dollar diet industry (as of 2005) depends not on people staying healthy and staying thin, but rather on people taking an endless yo-yo ride between health and fat. <p>So you want a diet that delivers? Here&#8217;s one. Combine limiting caloric intake to 1000 calories each day with at least 30 minutes of exercise at least five times a week. That diet will result in shedding weight. But there are two problems.</p>
<p>#1 cravings will likely end the diet. Sooner or later, particularly after returning home from work outs, those 1000 calories won&#8217;t be sufficient to satisfy. One piece of cake, or just one bag of chips, or one extra hot dog will soon motivate you to end the diet.</p>

<p>#2 the diet eventually finishes. You soon go back to eating the identical old way. Next beach season, or next fancy dress party, or next vacation, or simply the next time you glance at a looking glass on the way out of the bathroom it will be time to return to a diet to lose the unwanted pounds.</p>
<p>The best fat loss is one making a change to overall diet, permanently. More and more people are coming to realize that to lose weight it&#8217;s best to make a whole lifestyle change, including healthier eating habits and more physical activity. The Sonoma Diet, created by Connie Guttersen, focuses on 10 power foods.</p>
<p>The power foods are almonds, bell peppers, blueberries, broccoli, grapes, olive oil, spinach, strawberries, tomatoes and whole grains, eaten in conjunction with the diet of the Sonoma country, which includes Asian, Latin American and Mediterranean foods and dishes. The diet is full of real food, and real portions, combined into enjoyable dishes to help motivate someone to stay with it .</p>

Below you will find some effective tips from ayurveda to help reduce Kapha Dosha and thus battle obesity and being overweight.</p>
<p>Of the four dimensions of our being, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, in this article I will cover the Physical Dimension which is most important for the reduction of Kapha and the correlating reduction in weight.</p>
<h4>Weight Loss Tips from Ayurveda:</h4>

<h4>1. Ayurvedic Diet for Weight Loss:</h4>
<p>Obviously an anti-kapha diet is the place to start when looking to lose weight. This means eating lots of fruits, vegetables, spicy foods and whole grains.</p>
<h4>2. Exercise for Weight Loss:</h4>
<p>The following Ayurvedic guidelines should be followed for proper exercise with regard to weight loss:</p>
<h4>* More Exercise the Better:</h4>
<p>Kapha&#8217;s qualities of fixed, dull, heavy, soft and cold are all negated via exercise. In other words, the more exercise you do the more you reduce Kapha and therefore fat in your body.</p>
<h4>* Exercise Without Excessive Strain:</h4>
<p> According to Ayurveda, Kapha individuals need the most vigorous exercise, but at the same time, the exercise should never be extreme. Find a good balance between doing too little and over doing it. Breaking a nice sweat is good, but being totally breathless is probably too much.</p>
<h4>* Be Consistent:</h4>
<p>A Kapha body type has a propensity towards weight gain so you need to make exercise a daily part of you life. The hardest part will be to get the exercise program underway. Once this is done Kapha people tend to be very determined and steady, so they will be able to adhere to it long term. Getting started though is another matter for Kapha types and usually requires shock treatment. In the spirit of shock treatment, understand that by NOT exercising and NOT losing the weight you are putting your longevity and quality of life at risk. Enough said, start today!</p>
<h4>* Yoga for Weight Loss:</h4>
<p>Yoga offers an excellent way to include holistic exercises into your fitness program. These exercises will not just help you lose weight, but will also help your overall health and well-being.</p>
<h4>* Post Exercise Diet:</h4>
<p>After exercises do not drink cold liquids. This period is key as you are trying to increase the metabolic fire in your cells so they burn more calories and drinking cold liquids at this time will negate this important benefit which exercise bestows.</p>
<h4>3. Hard Physical Work to Burn Calories:</h4>
<p>According to Ayurveda reduction of Kapha is promoted by living a physical, active lifestyle. In today\&#8217;s age of technology, computers, TVs, TiVO, internet, etc, manual labor is getting more rare for people to do. So you need to consciously incorporate physical work into your life. Whether that be mowing the lawn, tending to the garden or shoveling snow, it is important to not live a sedentary live of watching TV and eating twinkies.</p>
<h4>4. Massage Therapy to Reduce Fat:</h4>
<p>There are many treatment modalities in Ayurveda of which massage is highly recommended. In the context of weight loss and reducing Kapha, strong massage with light oils such as mustard or flaxseed is helpful.</p>
<h4>5. Sleep Guidelines for Weight Loss:</h4>
<p>No napping or going to bed early. If you want to reduce Kapha and weight remember you burn more calories when you are awake and being active, than when you are happily snuggled under the blanket.</p>
