Making your weight loss plan work isn’t an easy task and during this process you want to avoid any stress and problems. This is the reason why it may be a good idea to find some good weight loss supplement that works for you. The right product can make whole weight loss process much easier and can be used in long term. Also it’s a better choice considering that another commonly used alternative is weight loss surgery.

There are 4 main types of weight loss surgery procedures and all of them can be risky and can do more damage than good in some cases.

1. Vertical Banded Gastroplasty (VBG). During this weight loss surgery the stomach is stapled into 2 parts where upper part is smaller. After food arrives it is passed to the lower part of the stomach though a small opening. A band is installed to avoid the stretching of that opening.

This surgery has 2 main risks: 1) the band is prone to wearing; 2) staple line can break down increasing the risk of stomach juice leakage.

2. Laparoscopic Gastric Banding (Lap-Band). This surgery mainly is performed on individuals who are seriously overweight. Band which is inflatable is placed around the upper part of the stomach. Usually this device is intended to be permanent. The size of the band can be changed.

Risk of band slippage and side effects such as vomiting, nausea and abdominal pain may make you reconsider choosing this type of weight loss surgery.

3. Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RGB) surgery reduces the size of the stomach. It’s achieved by stapling the upper part creating a smaller pouch which is attached to the small intestine. Purpose of this surgery is to help you eat less and absorb fewer nutrients.

Leaking, diarrhea, nausea are just few of the possible side effects. Also “dumping syndrome” may be present because the food moves too quickly through the small intestine.

4. Biliopancreatic Diversion (BPD). This is the riskiest surgery from all 4 that’s why it’s used very rarely. A huge chunk of stomach is just removed reducing its capacity helping you eat less. The surgery is complicated and you may suffer from nutritional deficiency.

Weight loss surgery is mainly performed on people who have tried everything to lose weight and if you are not one of them then better choose traditional weight loss methods and weight loss support to supplement your weight loss plan.

A note from the Ideal Weight Loss Guide Editor:

We do not advocate weight loss surgery, except as a last resort for people who have tried every weight loss program out there, and who also have health issues related to obesity.

We have more information for those people considering weight loss surgery.  We are aware of a great medical weight loss program and also a weight loss surgery program in a major medical center near us. We would recommend that if you are considering weight loss surgery that you do your research looking for a full program such as this one, with a “before and after” weight loss support system. This one includes nutritionists and support from a psychologist, as well as medical doctors, gastric surgeons and fitness experts.

Usually this kind of weight loss program is found in the the larger more well known, major hospital medical centers where they do multiple weight loss surgeries daily and you can certainly ask about their success rates and complications from surgery.
