Fitness, Health and Well Beingby Lenore Miller

It has been my privilege over the last 3.5 years to work with more than 1500 women through my fitness studio, assisting them to create the outrageously healthy life they desire and deserve. As a fitness professional people came to myself and my team looking for a solution to their fitness and weight loss ‘problems’. But here’s the thing – what these gorgeous women really wanted was what they thought getting thin and fit would give them: feeling great about themselves, energy, vibrance and happiness! A sense of outrageous health and wellbeing.

In today’s media there’s a lot of attention placed on obesity, weight loss and the latest diet craze, but will being thin or your ideal weight ensure your happiness?

The diet and weight loss industry would have you believe that getting thin will solve all your problems, I am sure you have heard things like ‘nothing tastes as good as thin feels’. What they don’t tell you is that a huge percentage of those people who reach their goal weight regain that weight, and more, within the next one to two years. Does that sound like the solution to outrageous health and wellbeing? In reality if they had a permanent solution to our weight loss woes we would all be thin and happy and they would be out of business. They really don’t want us to be permanently free of them do they? Which is why they only deal with the symptoms, excess weight, not the real issues, belief or behaviors that have lead us to gain and hold onto the weight in the first place. So how do I know this?

What I’ve observed is women feeling less than their best are looking for a solution for their unhappiness or discontent. Sadly the women who have achieved their ‘ideal’ weight or size, are often still unhappy and discontent with who they are, and how they feel. The reality is they were really looking for what they thought being their ideal weight would give them. Usually what they want is to feel happy, energetic, vibrant; they want to feel outrageously happy and healthy! So why when they get to their desired size or weight are they still not satisfied? Why do they then go on to want to adjust other things about themselves – the shape of their bottom, arms or nose or even their relationship? What they want is not about their weight, or size, what they eat or even how often they exercise. It’s about the quality of their life; how they feel every day when they wake up and then every second of that day – it’s about how they feel in their own skin. If you spend all day thinking about all the ways you’re not perfect, then you’ll never feel that sense of outrageous health and wellbeing – and you will never live the great life you deserve.

So what’s the solution? I’m glad you asked. The solution is to learn how to feel outrageously healthy and happy TODAY regardless of your weight, size, shape or health issues. Outrageous health starts with the quality of your life and the connection with yourself and then flows into all areas of your existence. You don’t need to get thin or fit first, because once you know how to feel outrageous health and wellbeing easily and effortlessly then everything else follows from there. It’s a natural progression. Will you need to take some action – absolutely – but once you stop focusing on all that is wrong with you, making steps toward the outrageously healthy you and the life you deserve is easy!
